Cosmetology Program
The Cosmetology program at JCCC is a one-year course of instruction. 1500 contact hours are divided into three courses: AVCO110 Introduction to Cosmetology, AVCO112 Clinical Cosmetology, and AVCO114 Advanced Cosmetology. These courses are offered in three semesters and provide theory and skill development in hair services (shampooing, cutting shaping, curling and coloring), as well as nail technology (manicuring, artificial nails) and esthetics (skin care and facials). By the conclusion of the program, students are prepared to take the Kansas State Board of Cosmetology examination leading to professional licensure.
